Helidax is a company created in January 2008, formed out of a partnership between DCI and INAER. Helidax was awarded the first Public-Private Finance initiative with a 22 year contract to provide pilot training.

Eventually, 36 Eurocopter EC120s will be used by the school of Army Aviation (EA-ALAT) at Dax to provide basic helicopter flight training for all three of the French Armed Services, Army, Navy and Air Forces as well as Gendarmerie. Helidax will provide 22 000 flying hours per year for a period of 20 years. The company finances the aircraft and will be responsible for their implementation, maintenance and repair of equipment, while the training will continue to be delivered by military instructors.
