History
The first all terrain truckwas produced froma single and original idea :
Marcel BRAUD, the company founder, thought of reversing the diagram
of a farm tractor and giving it a lifting boom and hydraulic steering. It
was to be call MANITOU and gave its name to the family firm.
Its success among users very quickly made it a generic name.
MAIN PRODUCTS
Today,
MANITOU is an international group employing more than 2600
people present in more than 120 countries, with 23 subsidiaries and
600 sales outlets around the world.
Installed in the west of France in Ancenis, MANITOU has been directed
since 1998 by Marcel Claude BRAUD, the founder’s son.
In 2007 the group recorded a consolidated turnover of 1.260 million Euros.
Today
MANITOU proposes the most comprehensive range on the
market, in three major sectors of activities: construction, farming,
industry.
To provide solutions of handling adapted to the needs of professionals in these
three sectors, MANITOU has success-fully diversified its offer and
proposes seven major, easily identifiable product ranges.
Through the ranges Manitou, Gehl, Mustang, the group distribute its products via a network of dealers. Of the pallet truck to all terrain telescopic, rotating and heavy load handlers by way of telescopic arm handles, on board handlers or personnal lift platforms.
