IDEF International Defence Industry Fairs, which are being conducted biannually and under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence, have become the most important regional cooperation and promotion platforms for keeping track the technological developments, implementing supply programs, demonstration and introduction of the modern vehicle, equipment and weapon systems.

I believe that the achieved record level of participation, negotiations and number of the signed agreements and protocols in the IDEF-2009, will increase in IDEF-2011, the 10th International Defence Industry Fair. In this respect, I would like to mention that, as the Ministry of National Defence, we will provide every effort to accomplish the fairs successfully.

The fact that to conduct the IDEF-2011 second time in Istanbul, the historical and cultural center and the crossroads of Europe and Asia, adds a new level of excitement to the IDEF Fairs which we call the “Eurasian Meeting” of the International Defense, Naval, Aviation and Aerospace sectors. Therefore, we expect high level of participation to the 10th Eurasian Meeting.

We will be greatly pleased to host the official delegations of the friendly and allied countries as well as the private sector participants in the 10th of IDEF Fairs, which have become a very significant opportunity in creating international cooperation possibilities.
