THE ISL OPEN ITS DOORS TO GICAT par Gicat

As part of GICAT visits to its members, the entire directorate of the Institut Franco-German Research of St. Louis welcomed Mr Jean-François Lafore, Managing Director and Mr. Jeremy GICAT Vigna, Charge of Economic Studies, on September the 30th, 2010.



GICAT wishes to thank Mr. Christian Villemagne, French director and Michael Weiand, Director Germany for their hospitality and quality of information presented.
This meeting between the Directorate of ISL and the Delegation of GICAT revolved around a presentation of the ISL, its research activities (the Directors of the four divisions of the Institute) and a visit facilities.
 
New member of GICAT since February 2010, the ISL is a historical research institute (founded 1958) and renamed of 358 people who develops scientific and technical studies fundamental weapon in 4 major areas: "Perforation, detonation and protection ", " Aeromechanics and munitronique ", " Optronics, Laser Sensors, " high-power pulses and acoustic. "
In particular, four projects were presented on the occasion of this visit:
- A system for neutralization of vehicles by microwave electromagnetic
- A minidrones (GLMAV) rotary wing and quickly deployable by shooting cannon
- An electromagnetic gun hypervelocity
- The embedded system, Arcadis, developed for the detection of IED and that ISL has featured on the Eurosatory exhibition in June 2010. He warned in real time the driver of a vehicle of any changes since the last time on the same road.
For nearly 10 years, the ISL appears to questions of civil security and protection against the terrorist threat in the country and in areas of external operations. The ISL has become a standard for protection against IEDs.


The ISL led much of his collaborative projects with industry (SME and large groups). When these projects are completed, the search usually ISL industrial partners for their weapons transfer, under license, know-how and licenses based on these projects.


GICAT is pleased to help enhance the research of the ISL and the know-how that are derived from all institutional and industrial sector.
