Effective as of 1st August 2012, Thomas Homberg (46) will take over the role of Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland GmbH and Executive Group Director Improvement. In this new role he will also be a member of the MBDA Executive Committee.
Thomas Homberg is a former paratrooper and general-staff officer of the Bundeswehr. He completed his training as a general staff officer in Germany and France. As military attaché at the German embassy in Paris, he dealt with issues of defence and security policy. Thomas Homberg joined EADS in 2003, and became Head of Group Strategy in 2008.
Thomas Homberg succeeds Werner Kaltenegger, who has elected to retire after eleven years as Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland.
