Airmobile and Air Cavalery

Airmobile and Air Cavalery

The operational capacities of ALAT (the French army’s light aviation branch), demonstrated during operations in Afghanistan, Libya, Ivory Coast and Mali, are the result of a proactive capacity policy, years of human and technological investment and an innovative employment doctrine.

All these factors evolve constantly, adapting to the situations encountered during operations and benefiting from the latest technological advances offered by the industry. Experience feedback from past operations and analysis of the major trends of the operational environment enable identification of the main fields relevant to the implementation of air combat operations.

This brochure presents the technical and operational fields of air combat and air mobility and the response of French industry to these requirements.
