Site protection

The term critical infrastructures refers to the goods and services that are vitally important for the population and the economy such as energy management, transportation, food and security systems. Were someone to break into a military base or hijack a nuclear plant, it could cause serious damage for the public and be devastating for the operator itself. So the purpose of site protection is to prevent this type of event as much as possible and limit the severity and duration of the event if it cannot have been avoided.

This brochure presents the offers relevant to the protection of sites requiring safety and/or security measures because of their strategic, industrial or social importance.

This document mainly focuses on physical security. It is explained in traditional terms based on a layered model surrounding a core to be protected and relies on the barrier-alarm-barrier method. In practical terms, the security perimeter is enclosed within the first barrier. The perimeter is then monitored to detect any intrusions. Special security measures that are even harder to penetrate are applied to high-value assets.

Theoretically, the need to arrange for both physical and cyber access to the perimeter creates vulnerabilities. So those points of entry require extra attention. Thus, we have grouped the service into five capacity categories: Design and Install, Perimeter Security, Zone Security, Access Management, and Operations. This breakdown tends to be a bit arbitrary, but it is a way to organize capacities into major domains.
