In a hyperconnected world, in which information of all kinds circulates without borders and without filters, it seems essential that companies have access to this strategic data, especially internationally. In this context, GICAT provides its members with numerous tools to anticipate their needs, access new markets and protect their know-how. Thus, GICAT members benefit from technology watch reports on trade fairs, tenders and patents, and presentations of sectoral studies. They can also join a thematic working group or one of the 8 commissions and participate in seminars and information days organized throughout the year.
Exports enable the defence and security industries to offset the constraints on national budgets. In the production phase, they help amortize investments by extending production runs. They also encourage the financing of certain programs by the export customer and innovation. In order to help its members develop internationally, GICAT offers a number of “Export Support” services, such as the federation of French Pavilions at foreign trade shows, the production of widely distributed capability brochures, “Country Dossiers” deciphering needs, best practices and international commercial particularities, the organization of international prospecting missions in support of our embassies, and assistance with export control with the help of a renowned specialist.
One of GICAT’s missions is to promote the know-how and image of the French land and airland defence and security industry in France and abroad. To do so, the group deploys an influential communication strategy and provides information to its members to optimize and develop their influence. They benefit from a daily press review and a monthly calendar of events related to the entire defence and security ecosystem.
GICAT also organizes Defence & Security press trips to introduce French and foreign journalists to the sector’s activities, specificities and innovations.
Throughout the year, it encourages debate between manufacturers, journalists, members of parliament, representatives of the Ministries of the Armed Forces and the Interior, and key witnesses, through thematic breakfasts and dinners.
